Where are we now?

So stories are surfacing that nows the time to buy property, that interest rates are only going to rise, that rents are increasing. Is this just media hype or is it the truth? Well personally I believe the correction has been overdone and there is upside from here. The country has put in place a number of strategies and they do seem to be working though it is still early to say. The next plan is to create jobs and attract investment. Ireland still has it’s low tax rate, highly educated population and native English speakers so there is ample opportunity once the country places itself in a position to welcome the new business when the multinationals start recruiting and expanding again. Comments welcome!

Recession Officially Over

The Recession in Ireland is now officially over. Manufacturing output is up, job losses have been stemmed, lending is up, house prices are rising and consumer spending has recovered.

The challenge now is to build on this and to return Ireland to a competitive and prosperous country for investment.
